VSS Help Desk
The VSS QM Books programs are designed around the
basic accounting outline of the VFW organization. This type of accounting is
known as fund accounting. It ensures that required financial reports are
generated in the format set forth by your organization and can be quickly
generated.
Understanding fund accounting, stated simply, is that all money received and or
disbursed is designated for a specific purpose. i.e., sales made in the canteen
are designated to the Post Canteen fund. Admission fees are designated to the
Admission/Application fund and so forth. Generally speaking, all monies received
and or disbursed, which are not specifically earmarked otherwise, would be
credited or debited to the Post General fund. (A general operating fund for
day-to-day operations).
All monies received by the organization can be deposited to one general bank
account or held in several separate bank accounts. However, all monies owned by
the organization must be designated a specific Fund regardless of the physical
bank account they are held in.
It is not necessary to maintain numerous bank accounts in order to separate your
monies into each separate fund. This separation can be done easily on paper to
show the amounts maintained in each separate fund, while all monies are held in
a single account. Transactions made can then be credited or debited to the
appropriate fund when monies are moved to or from your bank account.
In addition to maintaining fund and bank balances, QM Pro software will also
print numerous reports and worksheets along with maintaining your membership

Veterans Software Services program. If your VSS program expired, here is what you need to do:
1. The cost for the Post or Auxiliary VSS program
is $150,
with an annual renewal fee of $75. You can
send a check to the address below (allow 2 weeks for mailing) or use your Visa or MasterCard at our
online store.
Please be sure to include your Post number and email address on the online
store order form or on your check. Include the note "VSS Purchase" on the
memo line of your check. As soon as we receive
payment, we will post the 1 year activation update in the "Registration &
Renewal" section at the bottom of this webpage.
2. Contact Rob Weiss at

webmaster at vfwmi@att.org and let us know
of your
interest in renewing your software and the version of your computer operating system (i.e.,

*NEWEST* QM Pro
(version 3.16)
released 12/8/11 can now be
run on any Windows platform. Whether you are running Windows 7, Windows Vista
or Windows XP (either the 32 bit & 64 bit versions) you can download and
run the new QM Pro version 3.15. It has been simplified, improved, updated with
easier installation & un-installation processes, along with a database update
and a new option to improve check printing. QM Pro 3.16 also has a database
fix for missing expense ledger items & fixes a couple
problems with importing data. In order to use
this, click on the system utilities, then click the new database tab. Once
there, click on the “fix expense ledger” button. If any items are needed to be
fixed, they will be fixed.
Please select your desired software and click to begin downloading the newest QM
Pro (new Treasurer Pro versions will be available shortly). Windows 7 & Vista users please read the 'Windows
7 & Vista' instructions below.

Select 'run' to install the VSS program online or 'save'
to download the file to your computer and install the VSS program from you
computer.
It is recommended you run "VSS Uninstall Cleaner
Utility for Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems" before
installing QM Pro version 3.16; instructions are posted on
www.vfwmi.org/vssoftwarefaq.htm.

zipfix for Vista to correct or search for fix Vista unzip.

computer, unzip and click on "setup32.exe" and follow the program directions& it will
install or confirm your post number and activate or renew your program
automatically.
