2008-2009 CANCER RESEARCH PROGRAM

We all know someone who has the dreaded disease - CANCER. The only way this disease can be beat is through research. All money donated to our Department fund goes to Wayne State University School for Cancer research. The budget for this committee is not taken out of these funds. Our goal this year is one-dollar per member. I would like to request that each Post, County Council, District, and Auxiliaries have a fund-raiser including their community. Suggestions include but not limited to: Bingo, Bowl-A-Thon, Walk-A-Thon, Dances, Raffles, Dinners, etc. If each of us can do this for 2008-2009, our chances of finding cures for this disease will greatly enhance!

POST AWARDS:

A citation to each post that donates $1.00 per member in each division based on the June 30, 2008 Membership Report.  Post totals will include their Auxiliary donations to our fund.

DISTRICT AWARDS

A certificate to the top three Districts, donating the most money per member based on the June 30, 2008 membership report. (Includes donations by Post, Councils, & District)

ALL CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE OUT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MICHIGAN VFW AND EARMARKED CANCER RESEARCH. IF AN INDIVIDUAL SENDS A CHECK, IT SHOULD BE MADE OUT THE SAME WAY AND INDICATE POST OR AUXILIARY NUMBER. 

Only donations to the Department Cancer Research fund will be credited under Cancer.
