Posts being
contacted by a fraudulent company
"It has been brought to our attention that some Posts are being
contacted by a fraudulent company going by the name of "Microsoft
Tech Support" claiming that the Posts’ computer has a virus and that
"they" can fix the issue. This is a scam; Microsoft does not contact
its customers to notify them of a virus. Please do not give these
individuals any information. Here is a list of common scams related
to the Microsoft name and the “Tech Support” scam is number one on
the list:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/msname.aspx.
Please be advised and spread the word to your Posts and members.
Thank you."

Suicide the "Silent Epidemic"
November 2, 2011---"Today we have
another “Silent Epidemic” and this one is affecting our Veterans. PTSD (Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder) from war has its own set of symptoms; one of those is
depression which can and unfortunately does lead to some veterans thinking about
suicide. We as veterans need to be talking to the public, to other veterans, and
to anyone who will listen. This will help our veterans understand that they are
not alone."

Great
Lakes National Cemetery Avenue of Flags Needs Your Help...
"The Avenue of Flags, the signature landmark of the GLNC, is located just inside
the main entrance to the cemetery and has 100 flagpoles that display our
Nation’s colors. These flags are flown 24/7 by authority of the National
Cemetery Administration. The United States of America flags used in the Avenue
of Flags are burial flags that are either donated by the next of kin to the VA
National Cemetery for display, or provided by the Great Lakes National Cemetery
Advisory Council or other veterans organization."
VA's Medical
Foster Home Program
"The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce the development
of the Medical Foster Home Program at the following locations in Michigan:
VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System,

John D. Dingell VA Medical Center
(Detroit). A Medical Foster Home (MFH) is an Adult Foster Care Home
combined with VA interdisciplinary home care team (Home Based Primary Care) to
provide a
safe, home-like environment and an economical long-term care alternative for
Veterans who are unable to live independently. The Veteran will pay the

The Michigan National Guard is Looking
for 'Volunteer Veterans'
"It can be difficult to ask for help, know where to go or who to talk to. No
one knows more about the issues facing a Veteran than a fellow Veteran. That's
why the Buddy program was developed -- to train Michigan vets to mentor OEF /
OIF veterans in adjusting to life back home."
